General Summary:         

IRIS is seeking an Project Manager to lead implementations and other client-facing projects for both small and large- scale clients. As an Project Manager, this team member will oversee and direct the deployment of the IRIS solution across multiple client engagements concurrently, coordinating and prioritizing project tasks in order to achieve deadlines. This individual will work independently with each client, engaging internal and external stakeholders through the program design and implementation process, to ensure successful engagements and drive best practices.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead project aspects of client implementations, program relocations, upgrades, and other projects as needed, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
  • Help define scope and deliverables across multiple project types both internal and external
  • Develop and manage project plans, resources and schedules, coordinating and prioritizing project tasks across both internal and external teams
  • Manage internal and external (client) project team, detailing milestones and deliverables and creating a mutual environment of accountability to the project plan. Escalate roadblocks and barriers to appropriate internal or external champion
  • Bring projects through project lifecycle on track and on schedule, communicating, escalating and documenting any delays to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Client Success team validate and align plans to client timelines and goals.
  • Conduct and participate in meetings, online and onsite as needed, and conference calls to orient new clients, define project deliverables, and design clinical workflows in support of the IRIS Program
  • Create change management strategies with clients that maximize adoption and ensure the ongoing success of the IRIS Program, and partner with Client Success to implement new processes and to manage change.
  • Coordinate the design and development of the technical solution with internal and external technical teams
  • Develop test plans and directly manage Functional and Integrated Testing activities
  • Collaborate with IRIS Client Success Team Member on communication of project information and project status to clients, key stakeholders, and senior management
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts related to schedule, solution and team performance
  • Ensure that projects are implemented within contractual obligations and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure project delivery per project timelines in order to ensure revenue recognition according to forecast
  • Manage multiple clients and projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Provide client, product and business feedback to sales, product management, and development teams

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant industry (technology/healthcare) experience is a plus
  • PMP and process-driven improvement experience a plus
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
  • Medical or Technical Certifications, Process Improvement such as Six Sigma or Lean desirable
  • Project Management experience in Healthcare IT solutions especially working with large IDNs
  • Background with electronic medical records (EMR) such as Epic, Cerner, AllScripts

Minimum Qualifications:            

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combined experience/education
  • 5+ years of Project Management or Clinical Operations experience
  • 1+ years of previous experience with gathering and documenting client business requirements
  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
  • Excellent Organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate influentially to project stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead multiple, concurrent projects in a dynamic, technology-intensive environment
  • Proficiency in the use of standardized Project Management tools (i.e. Basecamp, MS Project, MS Project Server)
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), SharePoint, and SalesForce
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving environment which includes ongoing learning and training opportunities
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Every Child A Reader in Escambia (ECARE) is a not for profit organization focused on mobilizing community stakeholders and volunteers to help improve the skills needed for pre-k students to be ready for and succeed in kindergarten.  It is our goal to build a strong foundation of students entering the education system, who are ready to learn.


It is paramount that The Executive Director (ED) of ECARE have a passion for the ECARE mission.  That passion should fuel the desire to drive the strategic direction for growth and oversee all operations, functions and activities of the organization. The ED will be the face of the organization by being an articulate spokesperson and champion for ECARE’s mission.

The ED must be an influential leader with the ability to manage, motivate, inspire, and drive plans to completion.  The ED is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. The person who fills this role must be a great communicator, who is connected to the community, and able to garner support and resources that improve the ability of the ECARE organization to fulfill its mission.  The ED must also focus on increasing resources to support the continued incremental growth of ECARE programs while developing and sustaining effective collaborative partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, local government and educational partners. 



  • Work with the Board and key stakeholders to develop a strategic plan that aligns to the mission, vision, financial goals, and other desired outcomes of the organization.
  • Develop and execute strategic priorities aimed at promoting the organization’s mission, vision and strategic plan.
  • Create complete business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set by the board of directors.
  • Translate the vision, plan and goals into actionable and tactical game plans.
  • Communicate progress, needs, and inspire the ECARE team, board and other key stakeholders to play their part in helping to execute the plan.

Financial Performance/Resource Development

  • The ED is responsible for fiscal management of the organization and anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Maintain the fiscal integrity and financial practices and policies of ECARE, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
  • Seek out and develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization, which includes fundraising, grant writing and developing other resources (e.g., foundations, private sources, government funding, and other unique opportunities) that are aligned to and support ECARE’s mission and strategic plan.
  • Work with Board, staff, volunteers and partners to successfully plan, develop, implement and evaluate special events and fundraising activities including timelines and budgets.
  • Work with the Board and ECARE Team to identify, educate, cultivate, and build relationships and solicit donations and sponsorships from past or potential donors, businesses and corporations through individual meetings and/or other means.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by all external government and private entities, to include working with external partners on audits, preparation of tax returns, and any other financial matters.


  • Responsible for leading ECARE in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission, through effective administration of ECARE’s operations, as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain official records and documents and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Manage the material and human resources for the organization to ensure that the appropriate people, resources, supplies, technology, procedures, and space exist to operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Meet regularly with staff to ensure strong communication, planning and supervision.
  • Review and evaluate all organizational activities, ensuring that continuing obligations are fulfilled and allocating resources to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Program Management

  • Employ strategies to meet program goals and timelines including volunteer recruitment, service and retention targets.
  • Supervise Program and Site Coordinators to ensure a committed team of effective volunteers is recruited to support ECARE activities.
  • Design and implement processes and procedures to ensure all school and/or organizational policies and procedures are adhered to and appropriate documentation is maintained, to mitigate potential threats to program safety and success.
  • Address concerns or incidents of a serious nature with appropriate school officials or volunteers.
  • Identify opportunities for program improvement through regular site visits, relationship building with school staff and volunteers and bi-annual volunteer surveys.

Board Management

  • Responsible for leading ECARE in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
  • Coordinate regular board and committee meetings, while ensuring all documentation/reports that are needed for these meetings (such as Meeting Minutes, Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet statements, etc.) are provided in advance for review.
  • Provide updates regarding the overall status of the organization in addition to recommendations for the Board of Directors relating to the creation of new policies, procedures, programs, strategic direction, etc..

Professional Development

  • Maintain expertise in areas necessary to excel in job performance by attending meetings, training, seminars, conferences and workshops.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments in the area of early childhood education, including proposed legislation and policy, as well as best practices relating to organizational management and program development.

Partner and Community Relations

  • Create and manage a marketing plan that creates brand awareness through a variety of means, including but not limited to marketing material, communication, maintaining a social media presence, and other means to educate and promote ECARE.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners.
  • Represent and promote ECARE at key community or partner meetings.
  • Cultivate and establish key partnerships that result in established agreements.

Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Four-year college degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least five years’ successful experience including supervisory responsibilities with a non-profit organization
  • At least five years’ successful experience in budget development, volunteer management, communications, and resource development
  • Minimum of three years working directly on or with a nonprofit Board of Directors
  • Qualifications may vary from the above requirements to such a degree as the ECARE Board determines is necessary and appropriate


  • The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with diverse populations including ECARE community sponsors, partners, volunteers, students and the public and will demonstrate the following skills:
  • Ability to develop a strategic vision for growth
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit management
  • Experience with fiscal management of an organization, including experience with fundraising, and donor management is preferred
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding is a critical skillset when working with children and volunteers of different backgrounds
  • Superior organizational skills and strict attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills—able to communicate at all levels and to a variety of audiences, from students, to volunteers, to community leaders
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, financial reports, legal documents, technical procedures and government regulations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to identify and seize opportunities to enhance the organization’s mission
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Constant Contact
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to proactively prioritize competing demands and efficiently manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and seek ways to make continuous improvements to program quality

  • Valid Florida driver’s license with proof of insurance and access to independent transportation
  • Ability to work remotely as needed
  • Successful Level II clearance, or the ability to obtain Level II clearance
